A facial can be a gentle part of a regular skin-care routine. At 4D Skin Care Clinic in Edgemont Village, North Vancouver, our menu includes a 45-minute Classic Facial, diamond microdermabrasion, facial dermaplaning and a facial with dermaplaning. Each service has its own steps. See the descriptions below for what is included. Facial services are provided by our Room 1 team.
Our facial room is a calm, private treatment room at our Edgemont Village clinic, and every facial starts with a short conversation about your skin and goals.

What Happens During a Facial at 4D
Every facial is adjusted to your skin on the day. A typical visit includes:
- A short chat about your skin, products and any sensitivities.
- A cleanse to remove makeup, oil and SPF.
- A visual skin check under good light.
- Exfoliation suited to the service: gentle for the Classic Facial, diamond-tip for microdermabrasion, or a dermaplaning blade.
- Light extractions only when appropriate.
- A mask chosen for your skin, then moisturiser and SPF.
Most clients go back to their day afterwards. Your provider will let you know if you need to adjust activities or products, such as makeup after exfoliation.
Classic Facial
The Classic Facial is a gentle 45-minute facial without devices, strong exfoliation or deep extractions. It may include a gentle cleanse, a visual skin check, very light exfoliation when suitable, removal of loose surface congestion when appropriate, a calming or hydrating mask, moisturiser and SPF. Steps may be adjusted or skipped based on your skin on the day.
A good choice for a first facial, for regular upkeep between other treatments, or when you simply want clean, refreshed skin.
Diamond Microdermabrasion with Collagen Mask
This service combines diamond microdermabrasion, ultrasonic infusion of hyaluronic acid and a collagen mask. Read more about diamond microdermabrasion at 4D.
Microdermabrasion uses a diamond-tipped wand with gentle suction to exfoliate the top layer of skin. Clients often choose it when they are concerned about dull or uneven-looking skin, and it may help skin look smoother and brighter. The hyaluronic acid infusion and collagen mask finish the treatment with hydration.
Facial with Dermaplaning
This facial combines dermaplaning with diamond exfoliation, extractions when appropriate, ultrasonic serum infusion and a hydrating mask.
It combines two types of exfoliation with hydration steps.
Dermaplaning
A 30-minute standalone facial dermaplaning service: manual exfoliation of the skin surface with a dermaplaning blade, finished with a hydrating mask and SPF.
Dermaplaning removes dead surface skin cells and fine vellus hair (“peach fuzz”), which may help makeup sit more smoothly. It does not make hair grow back thicker or darker.
Which Facial Is Right for You?
Each service has different steps. The Classic Facial is the gentlest option on our menu, without devices. Diamond Microdermabrasion with Collagen Mask and the Facial with Dermaplaning add device-based exfoliation and infusion steps. Before and After Your Facial
Before your appointment, please tell us about any allergies, active irritation, recent facial treatments, prescription skin care or medical skin conditions. After your appointment, follow your provider's aftercare instructions, including advice about sun exposure and sunscreen.
Skin Care After Your Facial
For the first 24 hours after exfoliation, skip makeup if you can, avoid saunas, hot yoga and strong sun, and do not use retinoids or exfoliating acids for a few days. Use a gentle cleanser, a moisturiser and SPF 30 or higher every day. If you would like product advice, our team can recommend AlumierMD skincare from our shop. You will also receive written aftercare instructions by email after your appointment.
