Does the Spectra Acne Peel Hurt?
The treatment is very tolerable. You will feel a warming sensation during the first pass, and a light "prickling" or "snapping" sensation during the second pass as the carbon is vaporized. Most patients find it comfortable and do not require numbing cream.
Is it safe if I have active pimples?
Yes! In fact, that is exactly what this treatment is for. The laser energy kills the bacteria inside the pimple and helps dry it out, speeding up the healing process significantly.
How many treatments do I need?
For active acne control, we typically recommend a series of 4 to 6 treatments, spaced 2–3 weeks apart. Once the acne is under control, many of our Vancouver clients come in for maintenance treatments every few months to keep their pores clear and oil in check.
